====================================================================== 19:10 09.01.2005 ======================================================================= * Archive Information * Title : Lube Rymdpromenad och Klumpesnusk (thanks Friction!) AKA New Odessa Overflow Monitor AKA dm_overflow AKA Barrel overflow Filenames : dm_overflow.bsp dm_overflow.txt Author : Christian Grawert (czg) ======================================================================= * Author Information * Email Address : christig@gmail.com Website : http://czg.spawnpoint.org/ Description : Deathmatch level for Half-Life 2. ======================================================================= * Play Information * Best suited for 2-4 players, all depending on how frantic you like your action. This map is more centered around gunplay, rather than mindlessly flicking physobjects around with the gravgun. (Tho there's a bit of that in here too. That table/desk is lethal if you can get it outside the warehouse.) The hooks become "posessed" at random intervals to make things a bit more interesting. The buttons controlling the hooks are shootable, so there's lots of action when you throw a grenade down to the bottom hook area. ======================================================================= * Construction * Base : Scratch Editor(s) : Hammer, Notepad. Known Bugs : The two batteries down by the water will sometimes actually roll into the water when they spaw, so they float around. This could be concidered a Good Thing though, as it makes them a bit harder to get, and that area is already pretty desirable given the two batteries + RL + SG in the vincinity. Build Time : Roughly 3 weeks Compile machine : Athlon 2600 1Gig RAM Compile tools : Original v* series Compile times : VBsp : 12 seconds. VVis : 12 minutes, 56 seconds. VRad : 9 minutes, 27 seconds. Brushes : 1246. Entities : 351. ======================================================================= * Other Information * Valve announced a map making competition to kick off the release of Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, and I happened to be messing around with the Hammer editor at the time, so I though, why the hell not? A boat lies stranded in a dried up dock, whose walls are blown away to provide access to a warehouse situated right next to it. Outside the warehouse a broken old jetty overlooks the overflow chutes of a crumbling hydroelectric dam, a place where the combine have set up a small monitor station in case any citizens should ever emerge from the dam's pipe system. Mysteriously, a simple teleport device has been rigged up inside the lock... IT IS A MYSTERY! ======================================================================= * Credits * The #terrafusion people and the func_msgboard people. My wonderful betatesters: Biff (Thanks for the initial thumbs up.) Blitz Daz Gib Pauk Pope (You're my favourite, pope! (Even if you're a whore with the RPG)) Raptor (I think it was you who suggested the shootable buttons. Thanks for that!) Shambler (The sole person responsible for making this map shine like a little diamond.) Zwiffle There might have been some more but I can't remember you all. Your help was greatly appreciated tho! ======================================================================= * Copyright / Permissions * This map was originally entered in Valves Mapmaking contest, but since I didn't win I guess that means I can revoke any liberties I had given to them. (Winners would have to sign away all rights on the map to Valve.) This map is copyright 2005 Christian Grawert. Half Life 2 and all it's contents used in this map are copyrighted by Valve. If you try to sell this map in any way or make profit from it, I'm pretty sure Valve's legal team will be pissed at you. Please don't do this. If you decide to copy my work consciously, please have the decency to give me some credit please. Ok thanks then! 2005 Christian Grawert err, so who's been testing my map?
