All The Right Moves

    Quad Jump

The quad jump is a term used to describe the jump from the ring of shadows platform to the quad platform. It is an extremely important part of this level and should be practiced until you can do it at any given time. Practice it until you can do it on the run, in the middle of a fight, backwards, and on both sides of the platform. The quad jump is important because it, in essence, makes the level a lot smaller and your routes a lot shorter. The key to making this jump is where you line yourself up. Look at the screenshots to see where your crosshairs should be lined up when making the jump and/or download the demo for more detailed instructions.

Point your nose along the line and jump!

Tip: To practice the jump try to go around in a circle, both clockwise and counter-clockwise. Jump across the platform, run around to the other side, and then jump back across. Try to do this without pausing the line up. Repeat this process until you can do it consistently.

Rocket Jump From 100% Mound To The Quad

The key to making this rocket jump is timing. The best time to execute this jump is at the very peak of the mound. If you execute your rocket jump too early, you might not have enough horizontal momentum to carry you onto the platform and if you do it too late, you will have too much horizontal momentum and you won't rocket jump very high. However, making your rocket jump a tad early generally works better than doing it a hair late.

Missed the Quad jump? Take the brute force method!

What this rocket jump allows you to do is to get to the quad in the shortest amount of time. If say, for example, you fail the quad jump and fall into the mound area, this would be your next option. Since the quad is a very useful commodity, it is usually worth it to try to rocket jump up to the quad.

Rocket Jump To the Red Armor

There are many ways you can rocket jump up to the red armor. Typically you'll rocket jump up as a shortcut to save yourself some time. Although it does save a lot of time, it can also be a very dangerous maneuver. The red armor room is very dark and big with a very high ceiling; thus, you can't always see your enemies who may be lurking on the stairs or in the dark. You can be ambushed pretty easily if your enemy is prepared. Take a look at the screenshots for different locations to rocket jump. Some places are easier to rocket jump up than others. Download the demo for more detailed instructions.

This is also a nice spot to RJ.

Rocket Jump Into The Rocket Launcher Room From The Bridge

From the bottom bridge, do a quick backwards rocket jump to get into the rocket launcher room. The enemy will not be expecting anyone to come flying through the window. If he's sitting in the room waiting for you to walk in, use this maneuver instead to come in behind him. If you don't end up behind him, the surprise should buy you enough time to get a kill. Sometimes the enemy will not even realize you came through the window if he's not watching or listening carefully. Demo available.

Grenade-Rocket Jump Up To Pentagram Window

Use the grenade-rocket jump to get from the pentagram area up to the window. You usually don't want to do this unless you have pent and don't want to waste the time to go up the elevators. Even then, this maneuver isn't always useful. It is sometimes easier just to go back through the water. If you want to surprise the heck out of your opponents and have a few laughs along the way, give this a try! : ) Demo available.
