Backward Rocket Jumps
Dm2, being mainly comprised of large open areas and long corridors, is a great map that displays the effectiveness of backward rocket jumps. Use backward rocket jumps to shorten the time it takes to get from one side of the level to the other.

Example 1
When trying to run the RLs, it is inevitable that you get held up in a battle or some other extraneous activity that would normally keep you from getting to the other RL in time; using the backward rocket jump will help you make up lost time.

Places where this may be useful

  • Corridor from the Back Side RL Area to the Open Area. See demo.

  • Across the Open Area. See demo.

The backward rocket jump is also useful in chasing down the enemy.

Example 2
Sometimes you'll see your opponent (who has no weapons or armor) across a long hallway. You see each other at the same time, and he takes off running in the other direction. If you run after him, by the time you reach the end of the hallway, he would be long gone. However, if you rocket jump across the hallway, he'll only be half way across the room by the time you get there. An additional rocket jump will put you right next to him.
